The Bike In Style Challenge Awards!
On Tuesday, June 2, 2009, Hilary Duff attended the LVMH sponsored Bike In Style Challenge Awards in New York City as one of seven judges including
LVMH North America Chairman Renaud Dutreil; fashion icon Donna Karan; NYC First Deputy Mayor Patricia E. Harris; DOT Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan;
Valerie Steele of The Museum at FIT; and Andy Darrell of the Environmental Defense Fund. Students from the Fashion Institute Of Technology (FIT) were
challenged by luxury leader LVMH and mentored by DKNY, a division of LVMH-owned Donna Karan International, to design a set of stylish and safe biking
essentials for both men and women including pieces such as a poncho, a jacket and a travel bag. The winning designs, created by FIT student Jessica
Velasquez, will be developed into prototypes by DKNY and will debut this summer in conjunction with the LVMH sponsored NYC Summer Streets event.
